Lars Mikkelsen

Lars MikkelsenHe enrolled in the National Theatre School of Denmark at the age of 27. He graduated in 1995. In addition to his role in the drama series released worldwide as The Killing, he subsequently was a part of two other internationally popular Danish drama series, Those Who Kill and Borgen III.He also had a leading part in an episode of the BBC drama Sherlock as blackmailer Charles Augustus Magnussen. In the American television series House of Cards, his character was the President of Russia. He was awarded an International Emmy Award for 2018 for his role on the Danish TV drama Herrens Veje. It was broadcast in the UK in 2019 under the title Ride Upon the Storm. Mikkelsen is proficient in English, Swedish and German. He also speaks different accents. He has claimed that both he and his brother began to learn English by listening to Monty Python records and learning the comedy sketches
